Question for you Surf Fishing guys.

Ok, so I went to the hook on Wednesday & I got there about 4pm, schools of Bunker everywere getting demolished by bluefish. The only problem is that there always 125-150yds. off shore & on a great cast you'll be lucky if you cast 80yds. The snag & drop would be your best bet or you could throw a popper on to.

Anyway my question, how am I supposed to rreach them or am I just shit outta luck unless they come in close?

Your out of luck man, unless you get a kayak or a surfboard and a wet suit. The kayak guys are doing great on beach launches and getting on those schools. Another tip would be to make sure your using a longer rod, im talking 11 or 12 foot class along with heavy pencils and heavy snags to really get out there with the big boys are. A 9 or 8 foot plugging rod is not going to cut it.

The past few days when I've been there have been just as many bunker popping up 40yds off shore as there have been 150yds. Just cast the best you can to the distant bunker and wait for some to pop up a little closer.
