I had a total replacement on my left side & the right side was resurfaced in 2004 / 05. Six months apart.
Stick to the rehab & you'll do fine. [up]

worst part of operation was waiting for it
hurts 1st day
2-3 hrs for procedure
get your strength up, esp upper torso

Here's the hip I got...my surgeon swears by them:

Surgery took about 2 hrs. Day of recovery my best friend was the morphine pen; the day after I needed a few vicodin, then traded down to tylenol. Now I'm using--maybe--2 tylenol a day, and that's for muscle pain as I work out, not for any kind of hip/surgery pain.
