Nice work. I shot a beautiful fox with a crossbow about 2 months ago and I haven't had time to bring it to a taxidermist. How long can I keep it in the freezer before it starts to damage the coat? This would be my first fox mount - I assume more expensive than a deer? Thanks.

Jay did a gray fox for me a while back excellent job. I will send you a picture of mine when I get a chance Jay. Nice guy great work. Not many guys will be late for a wedding to wait for me to drop off my duck![up][up][up][up]
I owe you big time jay!
( I did not want to freeze it brought it right from
A/C to Jays place)

Freezer life depends alot on how good it is bagged. Ive done them up to 2 years in the freezer, but you risk freezer burning the skin. I wouldnt let anything sit over 4-6 months frozen. Your best bet, if you KNOW you are going to mount it, is to drop it off at a taxidermist the day you shoot it. Get the animal tanned for a lifesize mount, then freeze the tanned hide until ready to mount it.
Many taxidermists run a year turnaround.. so you do have a year to get some money up.. i request $300 deposit on fox. If you dont have it, i will work with you. its not the end of the world, but you wont get the mount until paid in full. Like i said you have a year to come up with the money..

Deer heads are $575
Fox lifesize are $750 + base/habitat

(in my shop)

+ 7% tax

Thanks for all the nice comments fellas!
