I am going to eventually be looking for a new slug gun and I just cant decide what I want.. Pump, single shot, bolt action, Semi Auto.. I just dont know..

go for the savage 220. no need for the semi auto...unless you want to be able to use it for something else? Be careful with it though...i don't want you to get hit in the head again.:D

Depends on it's intended use, do you mostly hunt thickets or open fields. I hunt alot of thick stuff so I don't worry about my 150yrd groups[hihi]I also like a 1.5-5 scope while others go 3-9,I also like pumps, it's up to you on preferance. It seems alot of the "trend" today is to have a long shot for some reason or other. Most set up where they can shoot 150yrds not neccesarily where the best action will be. I strive for 15yrd shots with the bow and 50yrds max with the slug gun. At that range any will do.

I have had them all. I am picking up my savage 220 and trading in my h&r monday. the h&r is insanely accurate. absolutely the best at its price. the savage is a whole different level though. with the right ammo it is a 200 yard slug gun. 3 to 4 imch groups at 200

I've been using an 1100 for years, till I got my muzzy.
Before that it was a Browning Buck special w/gold trigger. Till it got stolen. An old bussiness card is in the butt and it was reported stolen. No word yet on it but I keep hopeing.

I've got an 870 with a 20" slug barrel topped with a Leupold 2-7x scope. Love the gun because of the compact size and it's pretty accurate with the right slugs. I've taken deer as far as 115 yards with it. If I was in the market for a new one though, I'd probably take a look at one of the many bolt guns available now.
