Corzine also got his "luxury" tax on vehicles costing more than $45,000.00, and all cars or trucks getting 19 mpg or less. That's going to hit at the heart of all small business owners that use trucks.

how can they prove your' gas mileage?

Man that BITES!! this state just plain sucks! hey to all you Dummycrats out there in NJ who voted for this jerk..next time kiss me first BEFORE you screw me!![down]

They'll just use the EPA estimate thats on the sticker I would think.

Is that tax on purchasing a truck or a yearly tax that accompanies your registration? Where can I find more info?

I thought trucks were exempt from EPA mileage estimates. Not anymore I guess, just checked Edmunds.

F*CK CORZINE!!!!Buy your truck in Pennsylvania
He'll still F#ck u back when you registar it. Unless you are an illegal migrant worker that'll list yourself with a PA address and ride around the state all year with a PA tag, then you'd be OK. Be a law abiding citzen and you'd better be ready to vaz up.

God I dont miss NJ when it comes to most things.

I'm guessing they'll use the sticker, which brings up an interesting point for me. My sticker says 18mpg on my Dodge, but the MDS systems is advertised as being rated for 25 mpg on the highway. The best I have seen is 24mpg (yes, it has a Hemi :p)as indicated by the overhead computer while driving. Even though I can get 20+ mpg, I'm sure they will use the lower rating to collect the tax. And the way I read it, it's a one-time tax at the time of registration.
