if you called it in that night you could have used your fall tag
thats what the guy at the checking station said. i guess i know for next time now.

ive seached 3 days
wow! thats some determination you got there. thing is 4 of use combed the piece of woods for those 3 hours and no success. we just figured he ran between the houses out of the woods and if he left that patch of woods we knew we would never find him. Anyway thanks for the advice[up]

sure bro, thats what this site should be about..

the buck i looked for 3 days i walked past within 30 yards 3 times.. he was under a tree in thick shit.if you think he went near houses grab a dog leash and ask if you can look for your dog.

years ago i went thru a bad time. target panic, buck fever whatever you call it, i had it. then i started shooting alot of does at a few spots that have way too many.. this helped me make good shots on big bucks. ill probably jinx myself but my last 12 deer ive shot with the bow havent ran more than 50 yards.. (im getn lucky)

congrats again bro..

hawkeye right on im sure he tried to find the buck but couldnt find it why bash a young hunter?they prob never shot a buck that big and are jealous.this site is full of jealous j/o's cry babies.[cry]hunterj if you want to mount it i have a extra cape for a 180 lb buck with a nice size neck you can have .nice buck

Its happened to anyone who has hunted more than a season or two.The kid has guts and we all have made mistakes. He more than likely has learned something from this.More than I can say for alot of the armchair, crybaby, "I have killed 5 deer I am an expert" crowd that is growing like a cyber sewer on this site.

Congratulations on finding your buck. I think we all have lost one before and probably not the last in your lifetime of hunting. You can finally. Stop wondering and start looking at him a million times. Congrats.[up]

nope they screwed me
I don't see how they screwed you but congrats on finding it.
I don't feel this was a successful hunt.
But I also don't think I know many hunters that haven't lost a deer. This could happen to anyone at any time so again congrats on recovering the horn and doing the right thing by tagging it.[up]

Congrats, It's a terrible feeling to loose a deer and not know what became of the shot taken, Glad you found him [up]

Nice buck! sounds like you put in the effort to find him 7 weeks ago,you tried and thats all matters,it happens to everyone.Anyone who says otherwise is lying or just being an a**hole.Good Job!

I guess you learned a lesson never to post on here again[wallmad] I'm always curious to learn just how far a wounded deer will go. If you had to guess how many yards did he go? Maybe those reading this can learn something from you too[up]
