The fleas you see are only 5% of the flea population you have. The rest are eggs, larvae and pupae. Get some capstar which is a box of 6 pills from petco and it will kill fleas in 30 minutes. Put frontline, advantage or advantix on also. The pills last 24 hours each and it takes 72 hours for the frontline and the others to become 100% effective. Nip it in the bud or it could cost a lot more money and much more grief. The pills are digested and work through the blood stream so it works that fast but the others work through the hair follicles so it takes much longer.

thats the problem$$$$$$$ and my one lab has diabaties cant use these products gonna ask vet tomorrow if she can do the pills

Hope you can rid your dogs of this menace.

capstar works for 2 hours and frontline is the way tog. If you use capstar you need to be sure that your home is flea free or otherwise it is pointless to bring them back to the house whre the fles and eggs are. However I use it every threww weeks and see the best results.

If it makes you feel any better I have the same problem. My house was sprayed professionally a couple months ago. I use Frontline and they are still getting a couple here and there. Enough to annoy them. I plan on bombing this weekend, washing the crap out of the 2, and spraying them this time. See where it takes me.

Its been a bad year for fleas, I think I am going to treat around the outside of my house next year also. they are a pain once you get them!

Advantix[up][up] My dog has been flea free for the past 3 years using it. before that I used frontline and that worked for 2 years than all of a sudden he got fleas[confused]so I made the switch, havent had a problem since. It aint cheap but it works, cost me 90 bucks for 6 month supply. If anyone knows where you can get it cheaper let me know please.

I had fleas bas this whole summer. It took me about 60 days to get rid of them. We had to have the house sprayed and then two weeks later they were back and the company came back to spray them and they were then gone. I also had to have my yard sprayed. I would let the dogs out and they would be all over them. My vet told me to start giving my frontline every threww weeks to the dogs and my cat. After the second time I had my house sprayed I vacumed every single day for 30days. The whole house. Under everything. This was the shittest time of my life. Fleas suck big time. After you vacum you need to store the vacum outside and then bag up the dust and seal it to be thrown in the trash, The bleach the canaster. Its a long road but you can get rid of them.
If your finding them on your dog now and your dog is treatred they should be dieing. Otherwise you have eggs and they will hatch. Goodl luck
