go to a real sport shop where they know how to work the computers. Thereis a cut off dat so your permit may have went back into the quota system. The should be on the card. Best of luck and find a real shop that's open, hard to do on a Sunday. I'll try to find the cut off date.
Why not try the onlinelicense system?

Sounds like you were on time just went to the wrong people

Award notifications and the permit pick-up period begin on October 24, 2011. Permits awarded in the lottery must be claimed prior to 11:59 P.M. on Sunday, November 13, 2011. Any leftover and unclaimed permits will be returned to the pool of available permits and sold on a first-come, first-served basis beginning at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2011 at www.nj.wildlifelicense.com or at license agents. ., find someone who knows about computers and hunting. Best of luck. If not just take the ride and get one in person.

it has nothing to do with being a real sport shop, its the whole computer system splitrock... apparently the system shows today as tomorrows date which is causing the issue (obvi bc tomorrow is a day PAST the pickup date).... i just came back from dicks and they have been calling all day trying to get updates (as there was a line of people there trying to get their permits) i left my name and info so as soon as the system goes back online (which is hopefully today) they will call me to pick it up.

Which brings me to a subject I tried to avoid. If it means thatmuch, why wait to the lastminute wher aproblem could and in this case did arise. They gave a deadline figuring hunters would applyasap. Those who didn't still have an option. Guess the BSA had it's motto correct. "Be Prepared"[up] Troop 4 Tammarack Council[patcheye]

Yea I cant get it online either
that's the state for you , sorry to hear it.

Only fix I know of is in person, probably at trenton or Pequest.

cant speak for all, but for me its bc i work for an electric company and was on 16hr shifts for the last 2 weeks due to the storm, was finally let go friday afternoon...at which point i went home and slept. then again, maybe i should "be prepared" with my crystal ball to forsee a freak snowstorm in october...

pay 2 bucks and get it online
I did that weeks ago and never received my permits[mad]

go to a real sport shop
I just did. We can not get permits today. As usual F&G screwed up...AGAIN

I drove all the way over to the shop twice, and still dont have my permits. Now I have to try to get this figured out over the phone[mad]

I realized from the site eveyone was receiving letters or notes saying they were accepted. I did not get one and went on to the web site to find I wasn't in it. I called Trenton immeadiately and had it straightened out. So don't bitch to me me if you don't follow through what you applied for. I realize it wasn't you fault but not inquiring and questioning was. By the way thank you for your services for all those in need, including myself and neighbors.[up] Besides I'm not blaming any one but the state as it's their fault, but why wait to the last minute to find out about it.

noone was "bitching to you" about anything. someone was asking for help with an issue and you replied with a smartass remark of "go to a real sportshop where they know how to use computers". does this help? no. im sure some people waited til the last minute, this is true. but others, like myself, life just got in the way. and i dont think anyone is more excited for bear season than me, so its irritating to hear that i didnt plan on following through on what i applied for. and honestly, im so tired, i got a yard full of downed trees and a ton of things that didnt get done over 2 weeks that i just plain forgot about the permit until this morning when my father told me. to end the novel, instead of posting a smartass remark try posting the trenton # you called to help some fellow hunters out.

You cannot print them online. You must pick them up from a permit location.

I had the same problem and I went to Garden State Bow and Reel. I am not sure if this is what was meant by a real sportshop [smirk]. Anyway, the guy behind the counter said he's been having problems retrieving permits and was getting an error. I don't recall if it only happened today.

my father tried yesterday at walmart, and they were experiencing computer issues...im assuming it was the same problem. im hoping they get this figured out. if not, ill call the dept F&G tomorrow and see what they say. ill post the outcome to hopefully save others time.
