Those who use the 3X Multi-Reticle are you capable of seeing your target in low light or did you upgrade to the illuminated Multi-Reticle for that reason?

Those that have used both scopes... Can you give your insight on which one is better for you?

Thanks in advance.

PS. The reason why I'm asking these questions is my red-dot scope that's on my Horton has started to go on the fritz. Last day no less. One more reason it's time for a new xbow.

So in the long run I'm thinking less is more.

C S - I got a red dot that was part of the Wicked Ridge Warrior package but not using it, someone gave me a multi reticle scope and I mounted that so it's yours if you want it. In fact, the guy I bought this from never mounted it so it's brand new.

I'm in Flanders if you're close by we can meet up.

The above scope was 150.00..this one broke because because i got the rope tangled around it when lowering the bow [wallmad][wallmad][wallmad]..i'd sell you this one for 80.00..you'll just need to get the mount.

Thanks for the offer, RifleSlug. But without the intergral mount base I couldn't place a weaver still scope on mine. Just as Piney mentioned and I figure why buy more for this xbow when I'm gonna get a new one throughout this off season.

Added: Time be thrown in. Enjoy.

I hear ya, thought it'd get you by for season and I don't need it. Only took xbow out 2x so far, even with elbow pain, still taking the DXT just from the weight and compactness. I'll break the warior eventually but it's fun to shoot for sure.

I have used both on my Tornado and prefer the illuminated multi reticle.
5 levels of brightness in either red or green helps in making the shot.
Necessary...no. A real nice option...yes.

Might want to reconsider the free scope. Just put it on and it would get you through the season and ready possible sale for someone next season. Just a thought. Good luck. BTW I have the hawke and had an issue with the reticles coming loose. Parker replaced the scope quickly and easily. Don't have experience with other Xbow companies but Parker has never let me down.

The Red Hot or Hawke Multi-Reticle scope that comes with most Parker models is an excellent scope, just like everything else out there you can always up grade to a better model that would offer some slight advantages.

Personally upgraded to the Red Hot illuminated Multi-Reticle Scope because I just had a tough time with the thinner lines and cross hair type redicle of the Multi-Reticle scope especially as light was fading.

I did find myself having some troubles with quick target acquisition with the Multi-Reticle scope.
I'm getting old and my eyes are starting to suck, especially in that last magical hour of fading light.

To be fear I actually have taken several deer with the crossbow and only once did I actually find myself in need of tuning on the light for a doe that was less then cooperative.

The one down fall I noticed with the illuminated scope is that if you attempt to use the light in very low light situations the light is to powerful and over takes entire scope view window, leaving you unable to see anything through it, especially the green side, in low light I find it best if you need to to just keep it set to the first click #1 on the Red light.

Like I said though I really don't see that great of a need for use of the light BUT besides the light feature it is a much better redicle configuration with thicker more defined yardage lines and circles for target acquisition instead of cross hairs, that to me is the true difference in fading light situations.

Good Luck

Thanks for all the replies. I was able to look at one without the illuminated feature yesterday and thought it may work. I gotta say, like all things, it seems they have changed their Red Hot Multi-Reticle Scope view. When looking through the scope I had seen this. Top picture...

The illuminated scope looks the same as shown above.

Here is the video from Parker's site. Parker Red Hot Scopes

BTW, when looking at their video it seems the base model red hot scope now has Five places to aim.

I would think that the newer version of the Hawke / Red Hot Multi-Reticleis would be even more troublesome in a lower light situation [confusedagain]

Then I guess it's time to make a trip down to Belleplains Gun Supply to look at the illuminated ones. I just gotta find a day that's openned. Today, Monday and Tuesday are out. Just hope it doesn't rain on Wednesday. Thanks again for the insight.

Well, I checked out the illuminated scope and got to admit, I liked the view.

Droptine thanks...that is exactly it.

Well, after going to Zeus, Belleplain Gun Supply and Cabalas I ended up not buying a new Parker Tornado. For the overall balance it's still the best choice IMO.

As for the Red Hot scopes, each store had different choices to choose from. Zeus had no illuminated ones, but did have the newer Multi-Reticle scopes. Belleplains had only the illuminated ones and Cabalas had both, but their Red Hot Multi-Reticle Scope was like the one shown by Drop Tine. I'm assuming the older style.

With that said...what I ended up with was the Red Hot illuminated multi-reticle scope and I found a deal on the intergral mount base from Amazon. It listed for $40.00 less then what Horton wanted.

I just wanted to state that the owner of Belleplains' Gun Supply was a pleasure to talk to. I'd certainly go back to his place to do business with.
