Hi everyone hope everyone is having a good season. I have been having a problem with the Summit Goliath Climbing Tree Stand. I had purchased one last year and the paint was completely peeling off aswell as cracking in the welds. I called Summit and they replaced it after sending pics. Today I go out for a pm hunt with then new stand, climb up no problems. When I come down I feel the sitting portion slipping but realize its not slipping its bending, bending and now I am shitn a brick. I am still 15 feet up. To make a long story short I wind up coming down and notice the top portion is all bent. Anyone having issues with this tree stand? Thanks!

Wow that blows! I have a Summit Titan I bought last year and have had no such issues. I just had my dad order the same stand yesterday. Hope you get this resolved with your Goliath and Summit takes care of you. That's gotta be a really nerve racking experience...

how big are you, I have one and many of my friends do as well , we never had trouble , I think it is the best stand for me . something dont sound right

I had 1 viper( steel) never had a problem with it,had a viper ssand weld broke on Tom part called them and they gave me a new goliath for free paint is flaking,I also have the razor no problem so I'm happy with them and they made good on the viper,by the way I still have the viper took it to my local metal shop checked rest of welds and fixed the broken one, they never asked for the other one!

I have 3 summit climbers including a goliath and have nothing but good things to say about them. great stands!

I thought they were rated at 250 but I could be wrong. After many trips up and down the tree I'll spray the stand with black paint where theres some scratched off. I just replaced my cables as the rubber coating was beat up and the metal showed some rust. I've never had any major issue or welds breaking. Honestly regardless of height 297 is not a healthy weight. Hope you can keep working on that and hunt for many seasons to come.[up][up]

Dude I have 2 the 1st was a steel one the 2nd is a Goliath the only problems are minor paint and the coating coming off the cables. I am a 325lber and go up and down several times per week from Sept. to Feb. since the Goliath was made. Never an issue. I personally think they are the best climber made I also like API's the Lone Wolfs are too close to the tree to make it comfortable to clime the Loggy B. is not good for big guys I ams sure they will stand behind there product.

Thanks Thunderbolt I took your kind advice and weighed in at 297lbs...any other suggestions.
Add boots, hunting clothes, bow, arrows, quiver, backpack, etc.... It all starts to add up.

I have owned 2 Summits and I love them. The paint does chip and just requires some touch up now and then.

Glad you made it out of the tree safely.
