Many people have been asking me about ******** Pride Scents, the most asked question is as followed:
1. What is TC Plus?
2. What is the difference between TC, TC Plus, TC Deer and Predator and TC Doe urine
3. What is the difference between a cover and a TC
Let me start by saying TC stands for trail cover.
In this section I will answer the TC plus questions first.
TC plus is an all year scent. It was formulated to do many things. Depending on the time of year. As many of you may know we test scents all year long, not just deer but everything that has a use in my wildlife control business. But deer scents are tested heavy as to see what real actions we get not just those that are pushed. Whenever we go to watch what body reactions to a scent, most of the time TC Plus is on us. Along with a cover. It is an all in one scent. Cover, trailing agent, sex and curiosity all in one.
TC Plus is a trail cover to hide the human odor on the trail as much as can be expected. No one can take 100% human smell away but we can create an allusion of sorts. The deer knows a human was there but the now is clouded out. In the spring and summer early fall, many times we see the deer, when it hits the trail will stop and just freeze for a sec then continue on. Others hit the trail and pay no attention. Some will sit there and just smell it for as long as a few min’s. A lot of hunters tell me they do the same thing when they open the bottle. Me too LOL
TC Plus also falls into a curiosity scent. We put oils in the formulation that are known to appeal to deer. These oils will cause deer to smell the scent with interest many times. Also there are sex ingredients in the formulation that in the out of rut season they are curious of, in the rut it causes bucks to follow and come to. So as the rut come close bucks will be interested.
How to use ******** Pride TC Plus? Place on a drag and simply drag it in to the stand with you. If you are still hunting just drag it. But make sure you watch your back as we have seen and have many testimonies of deer following the hunter.
(PLEASE DO NOT PUT IT ON YOUR PERSONS, Bear, coyote, moose, ****, fox and elk are attracted to it also.) I would also think bobcats, lion and wolf will check it out.
If dragging to the stand we advise not to come in on the absolute downwind of the stand but rather anywhere except in-between the 5, 6 and 7 o’clock positions with 12 o’clock being the absolute up wind. We prefer to come in with the wind on the shoulders 2 to 4 or 10 to 8 positions on the clock with 12 O’clock being dead up wind. At whatever distance you feel comfortable shooting, we will use 15 yards here, start your up wind j hook. This will put a trailing deer on your flank looking away from your position with a broad side view of the deer. As you j hook to the up wind of your position. At 2 o’clock hang either TC Plus or another one of our scents say ole timer 4 to 6 feet off the ground on a wick of sorts? Tampons are great for this as they can be seen also they have surface to produce a line instead of a cone of odor. Also leather 2 by 4 inches makes a great hanger or drag. Continue around on a half circle to the 10 o’clock and do the same, proceed to the 9 position and go to the stand or blind. When trailing scent to stand never walk right to the stand you will pay for that mistake, by a deer smelling your steps or a bear looking into you pop up Blind LOL when you leave take the scents with you. Hope this helps.
Other methods of use that can be used with TC Plus are misting. We found that blind misting every 15 to 20 min with 4 to 8 pumps to the 3 and 9 positions from a tree stand will pull deer in, BUT the hunter must be watching downwind very close. Target misting on the ground, get the mist up wind of the deer and mist. It will move to the deer, spray on a holder of some sort also along with the air currents then quietly slip up and to the flank of the trail the deer will come in on, BIG BUCKS will come in slow and stay in the thick stuff, being up and flanked the deer will be looking past the hunter as the broad side shot is able to be taken. Best to be at least 10 yards from the deer or it will pick up moment or sound, very exciting way to hunt, but success, well many are tried few are got LOL
here is question 2:
What is the difference between TC, TC Deer / Predator and TC DOE?
As stated before TC stands for Trail cover. Straight TC is the first scent that I made in this line of scents. Way back in 1990. I needed a scent to get into my stands and to get in to do control work. I needed to cover my trail going into these spots. I used and still use TC or TC Plus on my boots when I am in the field scouting, hunting, testing scents, trapping for k9’s as a cover and curiosity scent.
TC is a spray on, drag to the stand or mist from the stand. (I put it on my boots but have had a lot of oh boy moments that you may not want, so do not put on your boots) It is a calming agent along with other smells that over power human odors to cause the, “they was here but not now mind set.” Again any one that thinks 100 % human odor can be taken away do this test, get in your whatever scent free and go hide and call to the dog, see how fast they find you. Any animal that is alerted or looking for something is going to acknowledge human odor no matter how small, BUT a calm animal not looking for anything negative will many times ignore small traces of human. Farmer plowing a field or joggers running by for examples. TC is the base for TC plus some deer may follow TC
TC Deer/Predator This scent was made to mist and drag while deer or predator hunting again it is a calming agent along with a cover. Same as TC
TC Doe. Very few people realize that doe urine is one of the best cover and calming agents that can be used for all forms of hunting. As an attractant it is mainly a curiosity scent. Deer smell straight doe urine all the time. They know the deer in the area. When a different doe comes in they will know she is there. What doe urine will do when it is from many deer, it will cause an attraction. I put it on a draw power scale of 3 to 4 for attraction, holding power the same 3or 4, but as a calming agent it is a 10. And curiosity it will be 6 to 10.
I add a bonder to our doe urine, same for all the TC’s this cause’s the urine to stay longer and not evaporate and stick to the surface. Even in misting or placed on drag it will stay longer.
These are good all season 24 month a year when you just want to fly under the radar.
