Worst feeling: hunting maine by myself 19 miles from the oxbow check point. Early am was snow but turned to an ice storm, left woods at 4pm slid into a ditch . Took me until 10 pm to get back to camp. Thank god I had a chainsaw, cut alot of trees down to make a ramp that went for almost 100 ft until ditch and road leveled back out. I wassnt that scared, more upset that I should of went with a buddy or 2

My first rifle deer hunt in west Texas. I was about 22 and got dropped off at a 4'X4'box bling on day one by my cuz. It was 0"dark30 and I walked up to it without a light as not to spoke any deer. I opened up the door that was clasped with a piece of wood on a nail. I shut and clasped the door and sat down. Right then some animal started going bizzerk around my feet. I bounced around trying to find the door and finally busted through it rolling on the ground. Out ran a armadillo.....I just chuckled, took a crap and got back in the blind.

Funniest would be when hunting with my buddy whose wife was expecting. He told his wife that "he'd never missed the opener of gun season and wasn't about to start". About a hour into the hunt I heard someone on a loudspeaker. "jim shutters, if you are in the woods come to your truck". It was sort of faint but the 2nd time the volume was much lounder. Jim launched out of the tree...."see you Perk". His son was born that morning.

Scariest would be gun hunting for bear in Northern Manitoba, Canada. Sun went down around 10pm. I was last on the pick up route so had to wait until 11pm the night before. I decided to walk to 3 miles out. About 30 minutes later I hear a twig snap, then another. I searched the pitch black with my then high tech light, the minimag with 2 double As. Then I hear a "woof" and caught some movement. There was a huge black bear on the trail. He started to break off more sapplings with his mouth. Then is stopped. For the next hour it was on and off the same. I was really glad to see those Quad lights and from then on waited for the pick up!

got another one 4 yrs ago,my 2 friends and I go out opening day of 6 day.As we got ready a old timer came in.We spoke to let him know where we were going. As the 3 of us walked in we hear BANG!!We look and go back..We asked what happened ..Oh i left my gun loaded from turkey season in the trunk and TRIGGER GOT CAUGHT AND GUN WENT OFF.....REALLY WTF OLD MAN

i have a 56 or 57 chevy hard top as my 50 yard marker..its about a 1/4 mile back into the woods...[confused] another good one happened to my father in law in PA. he went to take a dump in the woods and as soon as he squatted 2 bears came out 35 yards from him he got up and tripped over his pants yelling bear bear and they ran off..talk about gettin caught with your pants down..

back in 95 when I was hunting some property behind my parents property. I shot a decent buck and it went up the hill toward adjoining property. Since I was in heavy woodsin the valley it would be dark soon. I went home quick(about 1/2 mile) dropped off my rifle, grabbed a flash light and called the owner of the adjoining property to ask for permission. I headed back out picked up the blood trail and followed it until I hear the most horrible scream in my life. I look up and there is a cougar with the deer I shot.

So here I am with just a flashlight looking at something that could make short work out of me. I just started backing up slowly and it went back to munching down on it's free meal. When I get home dad was home so I asked since when did Virginia have cougars? he said the seventies they realeased a few to try to control the deer in nelson county( next county over). I told him what happened, he told me that I was lucky it had the deer and it wasn't trailing it as well when I came along.

Very scared that night

There was a few kids (early teens) in the neigborhood that liked playing in the woods behind my parents on our property. They asked dad if they could build a tree house and he told them it was fine. so over the summer they built and Dad or I would occasionaly go out there to help them with the havier or harder stuff. It was kinda cool it had a roof and walls that went up 4 foot so it was more like a watch tower.

On fairly warm fall day while using the tower hunting I see one of the boys and a girl walking out. I hear them talking

Boy: so your sure about this and you won't tell?
Girl: yes I am sure and no I won't
Boy: OK we will do it under the pine trees.

There was 4 very large spruces together that left a small path to the center and there was a decent amount of space in that center.

Girl: I will get Pine sap on my ass!
Boy: no because we will lay my jacket down for you to lay on

So when they started to Go into the Pines I ducked down and in a deep voice loud enough for them to hear I say "I see you, I will tell your parents"

All I hear is OH SHIT and foot beats [rofl]

I am going to have to add a coolest part

I was hunting on the edge of a small open field. I was scanning the area and seen a few tree rats gathering acorns. I then caught a glimspe of something in the air I look up and it is a falcon circleing around then it goes into it's powerdive. It snatched up one of the squirrels and stood there eating it. I am amzed enough as is seeing it on tv or whatever but seeing it in person made my day.
