Have a stand I've been baiting for a while and have had a few nice bucks coming into regularly. Had to pass on them because I still don't have my doe. Haven't hunted the stand in about a week because I didn't want to chance spookin a buck. Checked the trail cam and now I have a group of does that keep hitting the site. Would you hunt this same stand for the doe and then the buck or should I set up somewhere else until i have a doe down? Opinions

I would try and get your doe somewhere else, and if that dont work out for ya, oct. 1st is only a week away , So you wont have to earn a buck anymore, then go hunt that spot where you know the does are coming in and the bucks should be in behind them [up] no better buck bait then a live doe.

i hunt from one stand all year so do other people i know. i took 5 does last year and a big 8pt. my friend took about the same and a 10pt all at the same stand where we shot our does. i dont think it really matters to much as long as the bucks are not there when you shoot the does. also once rut hits the bucks will be running crazy so youl get one then probably.

Good news, bad news. If one comes in solo take it. If you educate the harem they may drag your buck in and bust you at the same time. All that snorting and commotion[hihi][hihi] Disturbing the area is not the problem, its deer marking your stand. If you can move your stand around around and your flexible let it fly. Permanent stands get marked by the herd:D

i would not hunt that stand for a doe if you really have a buck you want to take there. hunt elsewhere and keep those bucks undisturbed until you are ready to hunt them. earn-a-buck will be over in a week so if you don't harvest a doe you will can still hunt those bucks in october.

I'd try real hard to get a doe somewhere else first. Wouldn't want to shoot her there than risk spooking the buck your after while tracking her[wallmad]
