I let fawns and does with fawns pass. I look for lone does. No witnesses

Without a doubt and with no regrets if a nice 8-pointer shows up on my next hunt I will pass. I'm not going to a check station and bringing home a fawn with spots. My family would loose respect for me.

no spots, no doe with fawns, no small antlerless deer.

Guys that shoot spotted deer use the Veal defense as an excuse, truth is, just lazy and want to shoot the first thing that comes in. Let the fawns grow up to be buck or breeder doe.

last yr i let all the fawn walk in the morning, seen 5 bucks and a bunch of does/fawns... didnt shoot any. went to evening post, and has a 9pt come in with a doe, i shot the doe because i had no buck tag[wallmad]... i ended up getting that buck later in the year, on the neighboring property, but this year, no foolin around. i want my buck tag, cause there is a bruiser commin in to my bait way too often..:p

what about fawns without spots? let them go if they got spots, but if they are a week older, shoot them? or if they make it to gun season, shoot them then?

i would never shoot a deer under 1.5 yrs old if it werent for EAB... i have done it in the past, im not gonna lie, and i let them go many times .. it all depends each year on what my camera is showing me as far as bucks.. if i have a shooter multiple times a day, i might take the fawn..

this year i have 4 shooter bucks 4x a day all in daylight.... the biggest one kinda cut back to every few days he pops in... but im going to a different stand in the morning, and hoping to fill my tag and rush 40 mins away to get in thhe other stand for the big one :D

Shooting a fawn with spots just to get a buck tags shows your nuts are smaller than M&M's. Go out and enjoy your hunt till you harvest a decent doe. too many guys worrying about a buck tag. God forbid you might have to hunt him for awhile. just shows too many guys still falling to peer pressure.

Every hunt should be enjoyed, leave the pressure for work and enjoy every minute in the woods
