Another lost. So sad. Not too far into Pa. at all. POS unleashed dogs on him first.
Freemansburg Borough Police Department
Police Officer Robert A. Lasso
End Of Watch: 08-11-11
Officer Robert Lasso, 31, was gunned down in yet another cold-blooded killing. At 1706 hrs., Ofc. Lasso had approached the area of a 'verbal disturbance' call that came in. As he came to the home and continued his investigation at the rear of the hosue, at 1718 hrs., two dogs were unleashed on him. The dogs began mauling Ofc. Lasso who then called for back-up. Chief Of Police George Bruneio quickly arrived and saw Ofc. Lasso trying to fight off the dogs with his Taser because he couldn't get to his handgun. In a split-second, a man came out from nowhere and fired from his shotgun directly at Ofc. Lasso, striking him right above his neck. The shotgun then jammed. Brother Robert didn't have a chance to react. The killer dropped his weapon and the Chief made the arrest. Ofc. Lasso was transported to the hospital where, at 1740 hrs., succumbed to a shotgun wound to the face. The killer was removed from a home and placed into custody, charges pending. This is an ongoing investigation being led by the Pennsylvania State Police (Bethlehem) and I will update as permitted.
UPDATE: After this Cop Killer was in custody he said "He ain't coming on my property without a warrant. I don't care if you're a cop or not."
George Hitcho, 46, was arraigned Friday on one charge of criminal homicide- no bail. The District Attorney will seek a first-degree murder conviction and the death penalty.
