So I finally reached Trooper Russilesi, he advised me that he was off for a couple of weeks and hasn't gone through all the mail yet, the prints are probably in it. He'll call me back next week if he doesn't find them. I guess we'll see what happens, he hasn't failed me so far so I'll wait a while longer for an update.

nycredneck, I think you're absolutely right. I just posted the same thing. I'm trying to get mine started and was told that I have to interview with the Dt in charge of firearms licensing. I was given a dat of NOV 11, on Aug 11. Now, when he gave me this date and I took it with stride, miraculously a few slots may have opened up in Sept. I'm telling you it feels like its a shoving match, I guess he wants to see if I'll fall. I'm here for the long haul.

Called, asked. The old trooper is now apparently gone, there's a new sargeant who sounds like he gets things done quickly. They hadn't gotten a response from the mental health check and are waiting for the second request to come back, which should only be a day or two. I guess we'll see soon.

Ok I am in law enforcement and when I applied for my FID it still took almost 4-5 months to get it back, honestly your best bet is to sit back and let the state do thier thing, you aren't gonna get anywhere calling and calling, just go with the flow and relax.

It's not the state, it's the town dragging their feet.

In every case I've seen, persistent but polite calls to the local PD will expedite the process.
