i shoot a 270 and a 25/06 the 270 was my dads so its my fav but hands down nothing shoots better than my 25/06 super flat super accurate

There's another classic cartridge; probably has more moose under it's belt than any other.

I don't hunt bear. I use a .308 ABolt. Its really more than I need for the biggest whitetaileds ... and I hunt open ridges in 4A.

For fun at the range, I leave the .308 home and shoot a .243.

.308 Win great for all around use but I like the .300 Win Mag for long shots

remington 700 in .308 or marlin 336 in .30-30. Either way if you stay within 200 yds or so and place a good shot you have yourself a dead animal.

I can vouch for that.....just took a massive Gemsbok and a Red Haerterbeast from 350-400 yards off sticks. Both were pass throughs (130 gr triple shock) and they dropped right there.
