As our time approaches my friends, I was wondering what is really pumping you up for this fall bow?

Is it a big buck or sneaky flathead, special hunt with a child, wounded warrior, close friend, family member, your first bow hunt or something else?

For me, it the chance to take a young boy on a bow hunt with his Dad who by the way is one of the best recurve shooters, I have ever met. Hopefully, he will score on a nice buck or doe and I hope to film it for him so he and his dad have a memory that will last a life time[up][up] Hope everyone has a safe and magical season. Enjoy every sunrise and sunset[up]

SS!

Nice [up][up] Ray was dead on at every yardage with his stick bow. Great offer to help his son get his first deer on the ground. I know you'll make it happen.
As for myself, the only motivation I need is the thrill of sitting 20' up in my church pew and the shear anticipation of watching an arrow hit it's mark. Nothing else like it for me. I plan on stocking the fridge with lots of flatheads and hopefully getting a chance to draw back on a wall hanger.

There are so many things that get me pumped as fall bow draws closer.
I barely would know where or how to begin, one of the thing I always look forward to, is the thought of the great memories and awesome heart pounding close encounters with monster bucks you only dream about, and the hope to one day see again when it all could actually come together at the end of a blood trail.

Most bow hunters know what I mean, just those encounters with that monster you never even knew was there, not to mention some of awesome things only bow hunters get to watch undisturbed, like fawns running around acting a fool or foxes sneaking around hunting mice with out knowing your watching them, it's those kind of things us bow hunters only get to see and experience first hand in the fall.
Plus the best part is sharing them with friends who know exactly what you mean when the stories excitedly roll out to each other on a
the field edge at the end of a hunt.
That's just one small example of the many, many things that always get my old bow hunting blood pumping as we count down to the fall bow opener ;)

The chance to fullfil a goal, for the last three years I've wanted to shoot something really big with the recurve. I have one small private spot that's untouched that I've dubbed "recurve only" to try and fill this goal Two years ago I missed the buck of a lifetime twice[wallmad]last year I had him at 8yrds quartering away but only half a rack on his head[wallmad]While swimming the other night he showed up looking bigger and badder than ever,140+ and at least 200lbs, I AM PUMPED.

The THWACK sound has me pumped. But like buckhunter said, i cannot wait for the solitude and the quiet, sunrises and sunsets etc Also the preperation....trail cams, moving stands, scouting, this all get me going for the opener. Today i put in some boot time, did 2 miles in to this spot i found two years ago turkey hunting, its pristine, lil swamp and covered with huge rubs, time didnt allow me to hunt it last year and its gonna be tight this year but this is going to be one of those magical spots where it all comes together on a cold november morning. I have chills thinking about. [up]

i spent the weekend walking and got to move two stands.
i felt how much i missed it. now the torch is lit.
got to get going on the stands.

just being out, walking. no phone, just me and the critters. seeing the stands up that gave so much enjoyment in the past. i look at them knowing in a just a couple months, i will sitting in them again.
can't wait.

Just getting away from civilization. Just sitting a tree either watching the world wake up or go sleep. Shit, I am so stressed out, the idea seems like heaven. That first backstrap on the grill. Can't wait.

Cool days, cooler nights, blue bird skies, leaves that make the mountains look ablaze, camp fires with hunting buddies and just being free of life's daily grind. When you watch the sunrise over the Water Gap in the morn that God is talking to you.
