whats the difference between fluke/stripers coming from the bay , as to crabs coming from same area? ..i have a boat down in pt pleasant but i dont think thats a good crabbing spot.... the only crabs i have seen are like rock or spider crabs....well at least thats what i call them ....

Its slow in keyport , the over night traps are getting a few not many but some bigger crabs. And there is nothing wrong with the water beside me pissing in it alot

Your right, the crabs are just a little more up close and personal with the heavy metal laced sludge that compromises the keyport basin. Whenever it rains the raritan river flushes all the contaminents of central jersey into the bay. That water loaded with all sorts of fertilizers and sewage.
I do not eat fish from the bay, just a personal preference is all. But if I did I would eat the fish over the crabs. The fish especially the stripers are migratory run into the bay up the rivers lay there eggs and are gone, and they are still loaded with mercury.

its all that Bud light.

i agree with not eating the crabs from the keyport area which is a shame. but I do think crabs travel a good distance, how far i dont know. I guess if you only eat them once a year your probably okay. But then I look at how I turned out and I ate a lot of fluke from the raritan bay as a kid. So maybe its not such a great idea haha
