I always see American shotguns for sale (primarily Remingtons) but you hardly ever see Benelli/Beretta's for sale? I'm not saying anything bad about Remingtons either, I had an 1187 SPS for 5 years and killed plenty of deer/pheasants with it in all conditions without any problems. It just seems once you get that fine Italian shotgun in your hand your holding the best and wouldnt sell it for anything else?;)

Well they don't rattle when you carry them, they balance well and once you use one you just can't bring yourself to leave it home. It's real easy to leave a remington in the gun closet when you have a Beretta in your hands.

Why you want a quality gun? You need to know where to look theres deals out there and when money is tight you can find a deal where someone needs to turn over one. Seen a few on Pahunting.com thats one place to look and another is Pennswoods classified. Guns will always be around whats getting harder now are Bear sticks to locate and buy right to many think they have gold in them closets until you inspect them.Even the flees at the markets are getting hip to whats goin on.

Seen the very guns you ask about on the bassbarn as well to I might add and the other 2 sites I mentioned without going to the large scale internet sites like gun broker, double guns ect..

Only reason o sell a Beretts if you don't need money would be to up grade.:p

They are a lot of money and they do the same as any other gun but what kind a dog do you gun over? I gunned over my setter her early years and I have to admitt I was a little ashamed using a Moosberg and the amount of birds I took with that gun was hundreds over 5 years. Now we are older both her an me and done proving anything and I roll with my classic doubles or now my new 20 gauge I got Berretta that was unfired all tricked out a 1,900.00 dollar gun for 1,100.00 I gave him. He wanted to sell the gun for 1,400.00 and I was able to get it for what I paid.I have his receipt so I saw he wasn't talking nonsense to me. He said he wanted a Browning synergy not sure if it's spelled correctly. Surprized me but I was at the right time at the right place to get that deal.

Deals are out there not as many as we all would like to save some over rated prices but they can be found.

I had a Berretta Silverhawk up for sale here last year but it sold on shotgunworld.com becase there is a broader audience there looking specifically for what I was selling.

This is a hunting site so I'm sure guys are moving those highend guns just as much, just not on this site. I did not use the gun, it was really really nice and although inherited from my Dad, it had no value to me except the $ from the sale. The money went a long way by getting both sons there first guns and some life long fishing gear and other things, all of which my Dad would have approved of if he was still alive.

BTW: one of the guns I bought for my son was a Remmy 870 [hihi] and I didn't need the money that bad that I had to sell it, I just don't hunt birds and would have never used it properly

I will never sell my 870. I use it for everything from clays to turkeys to predators(just change the chokes). Even if I buy more expensive guns, I will still keep it to use as a dedicated turkey or pred gun.

Cause remington out sells every other gun 50 to one over the last 30years.
oh come on...im not doubting remingtons reliability but price is the obvious factor there....Ill put my benelli SBII up against any remington...after a day in the field with it your remingtons will be in the classifieds to buy a benelli or beretta[ko][ko]

A Remington is still a working-man's shotgun, available and acquirable by just about anyone. And you might not looking in the right places. Go to the ShotgunWorld forum, the DoubleGunShop forum, or any of the dedicated forums/sites for classic American and European doubles and you'll see quality guns selling at all levels of grades and price scale. Most folks won't sell a good shotgun that fits them properly and swings well either. Those are usually hard to find. Those sold usually don't "fit" the discriminating shooter, or they tire of them and they want to move up in quality or down in gauge. Once you are smitten by a nice one, you'll understand why the difference of a nice handling shotgun compared to a clunky one is like comparing a five-weight flyrod to a 4' chunk of lead pipe.
