·Best of luck, odds are better there then for non residents for IOWA, I should know if we draw tags for IOWA arounf July 4th

Can someone explain this Illinois permit business. I plan on hunting Ill this fall with my son who lives there. We are trying to figure out these permits and seasons, their website is confusing.
Are the permits for specific zones? for specific WMA's? Is there a bow permit then a muzzleloader permit then a shotgun permit? I will be using my muzzle loader he will be using his shotgun.
My son as an Ill resident does he even need one of these permits?

muzzleloader and shotgun is very hard to get
