I know it's wierd but this is how i've learned, this site got me really into deer hunting and now trapping. So now on to turtles. I have Ghostbear working on my boat and my app is in the mail and then i should be good to go. What kind of traps are people using? homemade or commercial? Saw a bunch online but look really expensive for a few hoops and a net. I saw Newt is a buyer but he's pretty for south of me, anyone know a northern person? How do you keep them alive so you can build up a load for delivering? This is just a few questions off the top of my head. sure i'll have more later. Got pics of your traps? Thanks in advance all.

If your new at it, your gonna learn the hard way that they bite like a bitch and hurt. I never got hit hard but had about 40 in the back of the truck last year and when my uncle tried to get around them one got his calf good, funny watching him scream. Just be prepared for the worst. An ole timer told me to carry a thick wire to jam down its nose and a big blade to pry its mouth open. I don't know for sure if the wire trick works but keep it in the back of your head incase you find yourself in trouble.

Thanks. I've caught plenty on lines but always let em go and have picked up plenty off roads to move closer to water so im not super intimadated by them. But Ive never had 40 in the bed of my truck so that might make me think. I know you said you can store in burlap. How long will they last so i can build up some poundage incase i do have to travel south to unload?

Bro, I I am infested with them this year. Firefighter. Any questions feel free to call me, I don't want to post to much online. Charlie 732-754-5831

charlie you need to trap down by me...i tangled with an easy 40 last night
Charlie can stay up North, I'll take care of that one for ya Chris. LOL Jon, you can keep in burlap for a little while, just wet it down so it won't overheat. If you're gonna keep them for several days, try to find a tub to keep them in with some water. I just hooked up with Newt on Friday and got a trap, thing is bad ass and I saw a video of Newt hauling one in that had an alligator in it, they're tough man. I can already tell that I'll be getting another one in the not too distant future. Also, if you ever decide to keep some for food, let me know and I'll show you how to kill and clean up one of the times I'm at the in-laws.

To far of a ride for me. I got plenty of spots 10 minutes from my house. I should do well the first couple weeks, one ponds I was playing in the rat holes the other day and there were a bunch in them.
