Wow, what a morning. I landed a total of three stripers today, with the second fish being just over 42 inches and I would guess close to 30 lbs. I was fishing from my kayak in Raritan Bay, off of Staten Island. I was snagging bunker and live lining them. I also had another 2 fish on for close to 10 minutes each and lost one with a stripped new reel, and the other got tangled in a marker in the water. There were 2 boats fishing near me and when I hooked up to the big one, they stopped fishing and were watching me trying to land the fish. They were amazed that I was able to land a fish like this after being pulled around for close to 15 minutes. I asked one of the guys in a boat if they would mind using my camera and taking a few pictures. He was glad to come over. I am glad he did because I have about 100 pictures of fish on my lap....

I am getting kind of used to the waders. With snagging bunker there is blood and guts all over the waders. And also all the slime from the fish. But it is getting to warm for them, so I guess I will just have to use two bars of soap in the shower when I get home!

Congrats[up]
To bad there was no one there to video it .
That must have been a sight.

That's amazing from a kayak!

very nice fish. I can't wait to get a kayak. One question though isn't it a little dangerous to be wearing waders in the kayak? you flip and they fill with water and pull you down like anchors? Otherwise great fish and congrats I am sure it was a good ride he took you on :p
