In light some recent threads and posts I have question. Would you break the law to recover a wounded animal if breaking the law was your only option? No grey areas or scenarios please just yes or no

No grey areas or scenarios please just yes or no
To many grey areas and scenarios to really answer this question.

If it meant the dog tracking scenario or a little bit of trespassing to recover a dead animal "YES"..

If it meant shooting a record class buck a couple yards on the neighbors posted property "Maybe"

If it meant murder to cover up any of the above "No"

To many grey areas and scenarios to really answer this.....

sure i would .. but if you do you better becarefull lotta rats around here
thanks for honest answer [up] and also of reminding us of the number rule of breaking the law. Don't tell anyone. [hihi]

break the law. prob not. like if a deer, i primarily deer hunt, ran onto private property, i would ask to go look, but if i did not have permission i would not do it.

if its in reference to tracking deer, which only licensed people are able to do, there is no law that you cant bring your dog with you for a walk, of course leashed. if your dog happens to find the deer, hey!

I would break the law and trespass to recover a wounded animal. I don't consider it trespassing if someone comes onto my property to recover a wounded animal as long as they can show blood and prove it was shot on another property and came onto my property.

I once shot a deer at last light, took me a while to track it. When I found it, it was still alive, trying to get up and run. I shot it way after legal shooting time to finish it off, dad shined a flashlight on it so I could get a shot. Illegal - yes, ethical to kill it quickly - that was my choice. There are some grey areas in hunting.

does it matter what laws you break, as long as it is not harming another human being in any way.laws are in place to guide the really stupid and protect the weaker of us.Lets not forget the number one reason laws are made ,to make money for those who cannot really work for a living and to give power to those who need to feel tough. [lol][lol][lol][lol][lol][lol][lol]

I realize that this is in response to the "lost turkey" thread and "15 guys fishing on the canal" thread.
It's not a matter of law in both cases, but a matter of ethics.
I'll be clear by saying;
1. It is unethical to fish without a license as you are indirectly stealing from your fellow sportsmen.
2. It is unethical to not do everything in your power to recover wounded/lost/dead game.
I would call a CO if I saw something unethical. My lab is trained in blood tracking. We missed the permit due to her being unable to take the required test accepted by the state due to her surgery at the time. She was still recovering. I love taking my dog for a walk even during hunting season. On a leash and unarmed of course.
These are my opinions, and everyone is certainly entitled to their own. Labeling someone a "rat" for having ethics is plain ignorant. I use common sense and discretion on a case by case basis. Nothing is "black & white". Lots of grey in this world.

Some dope i work with said, he cannot see any reason why people need to own guns. I reminded him that hunting is a sport like golf and guns are the tools of the sport, target shooting, home protection, and in case we need a militia to help save our country. He smiled and looked at me like i was full of crap.I then reminded myself this guy is so light in the loafers his feet barely touch the ground when he walks.
