only reason i knew he was there was the fact that he was walkin and callin , to me thats not a good idea ! Havent been doin this long but common sense is common sense
why would someone shoot at something that sounds like a hen?

i agree to be extremely carefull out there, but if someone hears hen noises and swings and shoots they shouldn't have a gun in the first place.

but, you have to be prepared for anything. always pick a tree wider than you and when you do see a hunter in the front vocally let him no. dont go swingin your arms around.

getting up to go confront another hunter...an armed hunter...who ambushed the bird you were working does not seem like a wise choice.
I could'nt disagree more..why would someone be scared of another hunter[confused]..and as far as him being armed i should hope so if he's hunting and im sure you were armed also .. the thing to do if you have a issue with someone is to man up and confront him.. Whats wrong with some of you guys afraid to talk to a fellow hunter cuase he has a gun[wallmad]

Smitty some of us go for the relaxation and not to play cop with some loon. I don't buy a permit to become the ethics police and unfortunately a percentage of the general public is economically challenged and the kill is more important than the experience. Chatting with non ethical john q public is not likely to have any affect on his economic outlook. That being said I'm fine moving off to find other birds. I'm still eating dinner if I don't kill a turkey on public land. The great part of turkey hunting is the gobbling when they come looking for you.The bad part is when the other guy comes looking for you[down] If you don't recognize Nj is crowded then drive a major highway at rush hour, wake up man[eyeroll]

When people move in on you in a trout stream or pool put on a 3 or 4 oz lead weight and have at it.They'll move out pretty quick. The fish will calm down.Works all the time. They might look at you like your nuts but the fish are yours again.

FYI I'm not hiding under a rock. When you reach the age to legally hunt and act in an unethical manner a few words from one of your fellow hunting permit holders is not going to change your point of view and how you were raised. If that were the case I would spend a day in the parking lot of black river preaching to the choir. Sadly a few of them are in the CO's car getting written up for various violations. How about I speak to the four guys shooting pheasants at 7 on opening day will that make you feel better, that I'm macho and ready to straighten out chit as it happens. Don't use that tough guy chit and blame the victims instead of the losers with no ethics. The other guy you refernce was caught on private property. If I paid the taxes I'd tape him to the tree waiting for the CO, hows that sound you like that:D

ok, you go do that and then come tell us how it works out for you, as far as you 'both being armed' no sh*t Sherlock, I said that to make a point. If you want to 'man up' and confront another hunter for douchebagging you fine, that will just make 2 weapons I will have my choice of taking when you each decide to do something stupid.

Smitty I wouldn't say your messed up but you haven't spent enough time or any time at this particular wma for an opener to understand what occurs. Not your fault and anybody not hunting here wouldn't fully understand. I have met some great people and we reconnect every year in the parking lot while the CO is hauling less educated types out for illegal activities. Without casting ethnic slurs and political incorrectness that is about as much as needs to be said as who knows who is reading this and planning attacks on the legitimate law abiding ethical hunting fraternity. Lets just say that some measure the kill as there high point regardless as to how they got there. Not a hunting only occurence. If your turkey hunting good luck the rest of your season. Be wary zone 10 hunters I'm coming for you next wee:Dk:D

this is the most ridiculous comment ever.......i doubt there are alot of murders bc one hunter goes to talk to another...cuz idk about you but i wouldnt be willing to shoot a guy who comes up to me if im hunting

You know this whole thing is really kind of vague. Really not getting allot details from it. Actually the way its worded its directed at someone on this site. [confused] should give us more details. Did he see you? Did you see him come in? Why was he able to shoot it before you if you were already set up? Just some more details please :D

of course you do, because you do not get it or you have never seen how people on public land...and sometimes private... behave, and actually what's ridiculous is your naivete. If you wanna go get all Billy Badass because a guy shot 'your turkey' or 'your deer' you go for it,just make sure someone is there to accept the Darwin Award in your honor.

and you might not be willing to shoot somebody who comes up to you but you get in some guys face because you feel he 'shot your ____' and he just might.

I solved the whole thing with guys trying to jump your spot while trout fishing. I take my 7yo with me set him up a few feet away with a rooster tail or something similar with treble hooks and let him have at it. You dont wanna be anywhere close to him when hes casting unless your looking for a new peircing or body jewelry
Greatest move I ever heard of. [rofl]

bitch and moan, bitch and moan[cry], hahahahaha deal with it!!! there is not enough info as to what happened. i have heard many a hen that i was certain was a hunter only to see a bird making the horrible noise. oh well. just have fun. you had a shitty hunt, buck up and go out again 2morrow and try again. game isnt over yet

what do you think this is Camden??? and i certainly am not naive...cuz just wondering, unless you know me personally how would you know if i had experiences on public land or not?? just bc you see im a "fawn" on the site doesnt mean i havent been hunting before. i have had plenty experience confronting trespassers on PRIVATE PROPERTY..never once been SHOT or SHOT someone. but if you can show me a case of someone being shot talking to a trespasser or other hunter maybe ill believe you
