we are looking at a regency 12,000 to 45,000 BTU . Now do you use oil or gas to heat your house or just the pellet stove?

i heard pellets got $$$$$.. im putting a wood stove in this summer

I'm seeing $280 to $300 for a ton. If you have to buy wood it's around $210 to $250 a cord in Sussex county 1 ton is about 1 1/2 cords of wood they say

I have a wood stove with a glass door. Its like a fireplace without the heat running out the chimney. In addition I added a heat exchanger from Northern Tools. This combination allows me to heat my hole house practically for nothing.

My wife will not like the mess & she will not put wood on a wood stove
storing the wood out side will take up more room then pellets that can go in the garage

I found this site from pellets http://www.woodpellets.com/ they are asking for 209 to 269 a ton mid is $249.90 $39 delivery $788.70 total. That's a lot better then $3.45 a gal for oil that I paid on Fri for 300 gal's $1035

I have a new england stoveworks 45k btu. I heat 1/2 my house w/ it and half w/ wood stove. Only used 150 gals of oil this winter. Be careful buying pellets some are junk. Got a ton from tractor supply this year and they burned so hot I could not stay in the room, ($229/ton), you get what you pay for. Second ton is burning much more consistently ($269/ton). You should also invest in an ash vacuum to clean stove, ($200), if you use the shop vac she will be pissed, trust me. Any more questions give a holler.
