For shits & giggles I did...
http://www.tackletour.com/reviewquantaccurist2.html

I haven't found it anywhre for more that $127. If you paid what you said, you overpaid. Let's move on.

I've got $50 Quantum combos that have caught 35#+ stripers and a $330 St. Croix/Shimano Stradic that hasn't caught squat over 25#. It ain't the cost of the cost of the gear that puts a fish on the beach![wallmad]

I'm in. The Berkley digital is the way to go. Maybe have a five fish season limit in addition to the biggest fish. (ie Biggest five fish bag?)

I seem to have this fight with a lot of guys on this site...

"oh I have the most expensive combos that makes me the best there is"

You can pay $100 for a reel that will perform the same as a $400 reel. If you wanna spend the extra $300 go for it...but ill catch the same amount of fish and be able to go get lunch afterwards[hihi]

what a joke.

Lets talk stripers I cant wait for may and june when the fishings crazy

man this thread has gotten off subject.

if its just for fun/braggin rights then just do an honor system. if you feel the need to lie/cheat about a fish then go play somewhere else.
If you keep the fish then weigh it at a baitshop. if you release get a quick weight on a scale and let go.

If big money/prizes are involved than weigh in at a shop. Maybe the same stores who run the Fisherman dream boat contest. There scales are accurate. List of stores will be in the Fisherman magazine this spring.

Agree that a minimum length is good to keep some kills down. 34" or 36" is fine. We know some big fish will take this but it will be fun in the beginning.

Ya'll can make this as simple or as elaborate as you want. Top fish no second place, Top 5 fish, grand prize for the a season and monthly winners, different categories....boat vs jetty, etc.

ill have to just get a picture of my reciept out so i can show u what i paid for my gear. you guys must be buying the hand me down stuff hahaha scrubs
your just making yourself look like a tool right now...id probably just stop by now

well id stop if you guys were wright but your not so i have to hold the arguement until u find my real online. what he shows u on the link is not my real. so keep thinking you know what i got. you cant look my real up its to old. when i bought it, it was the most exspensive one on the shelf at cabelas. 389.99 and why would i make up such a number if it wasnt what i paid. like my $150 rod broke in half the first day i used it. so now i have a $30 rod from walmart with a $400 real on it. if u dont like that i have the best gear thats to bad. thats like saying to an archer that mathews catch us if u can arent the best bows on the market. im done telling the trueth for now i gotta go get lunch ill be back to continue this arguement in a bit. untill then dont be mad u cant get my real anywheres its just the way it is.

its about 4 maybe 5 years old now.
what he shows u on the link is not my real
The date on the link and the article talk about the "new" reels from Quantum in 2005. Everything before and after is in the same price range. Even repair manuals are the same.

hold the arguement until u find my real online
Tell you what, why don't we hold the argument until you find it and back it up? Clearly you must have such a "special" version of this mid-market reel that no one has ever heard of it.[eyeroll]

i dont use cheap 100 equipment its either the best or nothing.
. my dream ln life is to be a pro bass angler and im using the best gear there is
so now i have a $30 rod from walmart with a $400 real on it.
way to stick with the best, those rod riot specials are time proven winners
[rofl][rofl]

my reel was 389.99 brand new at cabelas. this was about 5 to 7 years ago. now my reels wirth $100 but brand new it was $400 which is all that matters. u can argue your point all u want but i know what i spent and what i have. its your right to agree or disagree. im happy with what i have for the price i paid well worth every penny. didnt mean to get so rude about all this just not being told i didnt pay what i did for it.

does it matter the equipment used ,,,, u can put all the money in the world into fishing equipment , that doesnt make you an angler ....that makes u a broke banker.....i buy from dicks /walmart / kmart i dont care .....its about how you fish and where you fish ....what bait you use .....ill put my scooby doo pole up against any of your equipment [rofl][rofl]
