Congrats on the yote. Its gotta real nice pelt. Please forgive my ignorance, but once you bag a yote, do you eat them? I have never heard of hunting them until I joined NJH. Just wondering what happens next. [confused]

I was going to just get the hide tanned but since it was my first coyote and it was a really memorable hunt, I decided to get a shoulder mount done.
I drove down to Tuckerton yesterday and dropped it off to Sandy at Wildlife Expressions.

My buddy and I case skinned it first and that was another learning experience.
The skin is very thin in a lot of places and very easily torn. The skin is also attached to the meat much tighter than a deer. You can literally hang on the hide and not get any movement out of it.
I left the head intact and Sandy will flesh and finish the job.

To answer a few questions, the coyote was taken in Deer Mangmnt. Zone 23 and the caller was set on full volume setting 5.
Like a lot of the Cabela's reviews on the Spitfire, I am finding that 4 and 5 are the most useable volume settings.

Thanks for the comments everyone.

I am hooked !
