They can carry concealed in all 50 states and buy handguns or rifles/shotguns in NY without anything other than their police i.d. so I thought that may have been true for NJ too. I thought we might have some NYPD members here that could chime in.

Was my question that offensive to warrant the wtf???? A simple non-response or "not sure, check the regulations" response would have been fine.

Not true, No FFL needed for rifle (long guns) Hand guns only require the use of a FFL. I just did a purchase of a long gun from a NYS resident and only needed their transfer paperwork and ours. I believe it works the same in reverse, but could be wrong. Call a gun shop and check thats what I did.

Tell him to stop by with his work car there are no probs there!!!
ANY out of state sale MUST go through an ffl that is a fedral law
is correct

sorry but you purchased that gun ilegaly.. better learn the gun laws befor you get yourself in trouble...ANY out of state sale MUST go through an ffl that is a fedral law .. again be carefull
Sorry I should have not edited my first post[wallmad], it originally said we met at the gun shop and what I meant is you dont need a the FFL to ship.

If you want to transfer a rifle to him use meet at a gun shop (which is a FFL) and they will assist you in the necessary paper work. That's why I said to call a gun shop but left out the critical part. Sorry for the confusion.[ko]
Just make sure you follow the law pertaining to proper transportation of weapons and you should be good to go.
Again, call a gun shop and they will be more than helpful.
