This one failed Santa's reindeer training program. Xmas eve found me in the tree early, 1pm. Sat til 3:30 before seeing anything. A doe and fawn come out and close to 20yards. Mom senses something is wrong and skirts me with a 35 yard circle. I look at my watch after they clear and it 4:05. I figure let me get down early to meet my wife and son at a friends in Franklinville and get me some brownie points by showing up early. Get to bottom of tree, put on bag, stand, and grab bow only to look up and see this busted up buck at 20 yards and closing. Auto hunter kicks in. Set an arrow, duck behind tree and wait. At 15yards he looks right at me and starts to veire right, stops at 12yards and I let it go, RAGE in the CAGE, for eight recoveries in a row with them. He went 40 yards and piled up. Thanks to DAD with help getting him out and to the party in not that bad of shape.
