ill be out tuesday tommorrow is gonna be brutal with the wind the deer will be on their feet all day tueday

I have sat in some of the crappiest conditions this year and its paid off
The crappy weather hasn't stopped me from going out, lack of vacation time was the issue. In fact today is the first day I blew off a hunt all season. My kid started throwing up at 4am. My wifes SUV died at the gas station so I dropped a new battery in and by the time I could've gone, I opted to chill by the fire and help my kid build a paper airplane launcher instead. I didn't want to do a quickie power hunt because My current spot is a 5o minute walk up hill.

Chris, remember the post about carrying climbers in and I said they get heavier as you get older? Well this is part 2.
I'm 45, diabetic and have 3 bone spurs in my ankle that need to be taken care of. I've tore my acl + mcl and have broken both ankles and 5 other bones. My spots are 1+ miles in, the latest spot is 2+ miles in. I go in with a climber, a full back and a weapon. The fact is as you get older, you pack more stuff and that's why they get heavier, not one word or cmplaint from me in any of those posts. I don't mind the long walks deep in the woods, it's one of the best parts of the process IMO.

Talk to me in 25 years and see if yo haven't started whining yet.

Cold weather is part of hunting, but some days are nicer than others. As I'm getting older, I'm actually packing less. I don't carry half the stuff I used to. I know what I need for the day and to spend a night if I get injured.
