This is a question for guys using hang on stands or permanent stands on public land. How many stands do you have set up in the woods, over how wide of an area and how often do you hunt them? I have two stands set up in the woods right now about a 1/2 mile apart. I have only hunted one of them since 6 day.

I had about 15 stands set up on 4 different WMA's and 1 piece of private land. 4 were stolen, and I took the rest down, except for 1 that I hope is still hanging.

I set that many for different wind directions and to have options when someone comes in on me, which happens all the time, so I need another place to go when that happens.

I have a ground blind set up i use for bow or when i take my 5 year old with me. Its about 18-25 yards from mt "target" area. I have a loc on very close by as well...use that when im by myself and/or using firearm b/c shot can be upto 55 yards.

Was going to MZ hunt tomorrow but this snow has me traveling helping family and friends. Then "work" is getting in the way. Guess I'll eat my muzzy tags. oh well. Will try winter bow.

I brought this question up because its a constant debate among us. And I had situation this year in area were one guy had at least 6 stands in the woods and expected no one to hunt near any of them. Weather he was hunting them or not.
So now to all of us with multiple stands set up. What do you do if someone is set up near one of your stands? Do you move on or do you give him a hard time about being near your stand?

Chippewa Wedge Loc
been looking at the wedgelock, and have heard they are rock solid, but when I watch their videos it sure seems like it moves alot when the guy is getting on it.
seems like a good stand for places you want to have preset but arent confortable leaving the stand
