went out muzzy hunting today in zone 12. get in my stand at 1. no movement untill 4:15 when deer started piling into the woods. there were maybe 30 deer and all over the place. most of the are does and a few small bucks. at 430 a big 6 comes out and is 100 yards away. he is coming my way but behind brush. he gets 60 yards and pick up gun and sight him in. i am about to click the safety and fire and then all of a sudden all the deer start running in every direction. i had no idea what went wrong. the wind is blowing in my face and not toward any deer. then i see it, 3 guys walk across the brook and onto our property. now its 5:00 and all the deer are gone. i get down and go over to them. they are walking threw the woods and over towards where my dad is hunting. i stop them and ask what the hell they are doing. they said taking a walk. i said, " didnt u see the signs posted every 50 feet around the property." the guys say no. then they say they always take a walk on the our property. i told them we have owned the property for 25 years and asked u have never seen any signs every time you come across. once again they said, no. i told them to walk back where they came and if they come back on again they are going to get charged with trespassing. best day in the woods all year and about to take a nice buck but all ruined. the nerve of people who trespass and illegally hunt on properties. this has not been the first time ive caught people coming onto our property or trying to hunt on there. the rest of us on here are responsible hunters and obey laws but you have aholes like these people who give the rest of us bad names. sorry had to vent.

I was gonna bust your chops and ask if you gave them a written warning. Some things are sacred, you should have busted them Lol. They will be back, bring 3 sets of cuffs:D They admitted doing it often what else do you need to know? Talk to the local PD and keep the numbers handy[confused]

just because i am curious what would you do to bust them hold them there at gun point and call the police they would just walk away

Well the posters name is NJcop39. Or he could have called the police, followed the trespassers until the local pd arrived, he could have done all kind of things. As a private citizen thats what I would have done.

Don't most cell phones have cameras built in now ? I generally take a picture, then confront them. Then if they run when you confront them, you have thier photo. I did it a few months ago with a kid (18+) on a Quad. I blocked his path with my Quad then took his pic. He asked me what I was doing. I just told him that if he came back the Troopers could use it for his MUG shot when they locked him up.

Never saw him again..... ;)

The last thing you want is to threaten or handcuff people. The signs have become a joke.Do you really thing that anything is going to happen if you sign a complaint? The courts are just too busy to bother with some complaint that some one walked across your property. The Judge will just tell them to stay off your property. One thing you must NEVER do is to try to hold them at gunpoint!!Are you telling me that you are prepared to shoot people who could have crossed your land by mistake and refuse to wait for the police? That would be a bad career move.I can assure YOU will be put at gunpoint when the cops arrive.Trespassing it just going to get worse as time go by,and there is not a dam thing we can do about it unless you put up electric fence and have a full time security guard.
