I commited to taking another fellow out this morning, had 1 gobble at sun up hit the ground and SHUT-UP, didnt hear a peep except the hens that were with him. Off in the distance We heard another gobble, Started over to that area, came to the edge of a ridge and my buddy thought he heard something. I hit the call and This Tom almost blew our hats off. We set up I pulled back about 20 yards behind him, In the heat of the moment he told me If I have a shot to shoot the bird, I said no Its your turn, Well as Murphy's law has it were did the bird come up, To his hard left and right in front of me, I waited about 2 minutes for him to shoot, He never shot. We didnt have a chance to put out the decoys, he was getting nervous. started to turn, I put the red dot on his head and flattened him. Come to find out My buddy didnt have a shot there was a Big rock and blow down in his way. I'm done for saturday's now. Hopefully he'll connect next saturday.
