I commited to taking another fellow out this morning, had 1 gobble at sun up hit the ground and SHUT-UP, didnt hear a peep except the hens that were with him. Off in the distance We heard another gobble, Started over to that area, came to the edge of a ridge and my buddy thought he heard something. I hit the call and This Tom almost blew our hats off. We set up I pulled back about 20 yards behind him, In the heat of the moment he told me If I have a shot to shoot the bird, I said no Its your turn, Well as Murphy's law has it were did the bird come up, To his hard left and right in front of me, I waited about 2 minutes for him to shoot, He never shot. We didnt have a chance to put out the decoys, he was getting nervous. started to turn, I put the red dot on his head and flattened him. Come to find out My buddy didnt have a shot there was a Big rock and blow down in his way. I'm done for saturday's now. Hopefully he'll connect next saturday.

He was 20.5 lbs 9.5" beard and 3/4" spurs

I think your the only guy that has consistently shot a bird just about every Trip out.

Either your a very lucky guy ,or you really like and know what your doing Congrats on # 3.[up]

I might add not a small one in the bunch ;)

I spend "ALOT" of time in the woods For turkey and Deer, I have ethics of not shooting Jakes, Its just my preference, I have nothing against someone shooting one though. Anyone that know's me will agree That I spend most of my time in the woods, PLUS I'm fortunate to have the land that Hunt. Thanks guys

thanks can,t wait i picked up a new farm thats never seen turkey hunters on it and a winery . i can,t if i get one with the gun i will try with the bow the farm has over 100 acres of alfalfa so i'm excited....i no you hunt zone 7 i was in oak ridge this morning

Bumhunt puts more time in the woods than all the people on this thread combined. He scores because of that commitment. I wish I could spend half the time he does in the woods hunting and scouting. When you put that much effort into the process, you can be selective of what you harvest.

Most of the time I'm happy just to see a turkey. Hunting this morning and had a coyote come up behind me about 5 yards away. What a thrill. No birds though. Way to go Bumhunt!
