so whats the difference between a winter solstice Lunar eclipse and a regular lunar eclipse?

I saw it but from my house it didnt look red or anything, maybe I need a telescope. But cool nonetheless

It was pretty cool. I watched just as earth covered the moon, too. I tried to get a picture, but it was too distant to get any image to focus. A telescope might nave helped.
The moon was orange at moon rise last night because you are looking through more atmosphere at the angle of view. It was clear as a bell this morning.

I set my alarm for 2:45 and woke up to see it. It was pretty cool to see. Couldn't believe how dark it got once the moon was fully covered.

I got up at 3 to check it out and I'm glad I did, it was really cool looking. Anyone see how BIG the moon was this morning? It's the closest the earth will be to it. Very cool stuff.

I had the wife and daughter up to watch it and it was an amazing lunar eclipse. I stayed up an hour and am hitting the coffee pot hard this morning...
