i was scouting an area today for winter bow and i found a dead yearling, first thought was someone shot and never recovered it but there was no entry wound and no other hunters within a half mile, it was completely intact, (i actually thought it was bedded up when i walked up to it) except its guts were hanging out the bottom of its stomach, so coyotes didnt get it. it had to have been fresh because i followed a monster blood trail for about 40 yards, i mean puddles of dried up blood, the deer was frozen solid, anyone has any ideas on what happened to it?? cold? i cant figure it out.

i didnt flip it over to see the wound because it was frozen solid, died laying like a dog with its head reasting on some brush, i dont think there are any other hunters near the area, but thats the best i can come up with, i found a sapling cut about 2 ft high that had a piece if its intestine on it along the blood trail so maybe it was hit low and the sapling sorta speared it and ripped the wound open more, freak accedent but coulda happened. im going to double check tomorrow and see if theres any stands around. the piece of woods is huge and theres only 1 way in and im pretty sure theres no hunters within a quarter mile. its got me puzzled
