Hi I am fairly new to hunting been hunting for 2 years. Last year and this year. I know that when the weather gets cold the deer move differently. Does anyone know how this is?

yes its true when weather gets cold deer tend to move more often then when its warmer. they need to find more food to make up all the calories they are burning to keep warm. but no matter what the weather when 6 day firearm opens the deer will be very unpredictable after the first shots in the AM are fired. they will be running for their lives. therefore their normal trail pattterns and travel routes will change from predictable to unpredictable!

Know where your hunting,,bedding areas, food area, trails,,old rubs,scrapes...YOU MUST SCOUT YOUR AREA..AND THAT DOESN'T MEAN TOMMORROW..Good luck next week

Ok I thought they went nocturnal because of the weather. So it could really be because I am baiting to heavy.
I get out to my stand once a week and have just a gravity feeder that I put 35lb into at a time, let it sit a week and then fill it again when I come back the next week.
So what you guys are saying is I should only put a small amount out there at a time, even if it will be a week till I return?
Now that they are nocturnal how long might it take for them to switch back again?

Ok thats disapointing but I guess I know better now for next year :).
So I guess for the remander of this year I will try and find a new spot on the property, and hope for better luck.

Relocating is a good idea. I tend to move around allot in nov. and dec. so I really don't bait allot. Not that theres anything wrong with it [hihi][hihi]
As far as bait making them nocturnal. You will see that debate on here allot. I will even say it myself.[smoke] I think its more the hunter making them nocturnal than the bait though.[smirk]
