wear it walking in and out, but up in the tree I feel pretty safe being above the line of fire.

Read the Game Council minutes from October. They are looking to change that and a few other things as well.

11. NJAC 7:25-5.23 (n) Firearms and Missiles,
and 5.24 (d) Bow and Arrow, General Provisions
Add language to mandate the use of hunter orange for ground blinds used
during firearm deer hunting seasons, including by archers when bowhunting
and firearm seasons are concurrent.

Don't know if this will include treestands or not.

Full minutes are here-

You have to be an idiot not to wear some kind of orange at least while your walking to and from your stand.

I keep a hat in my pack and put it on whenever I see a hunter approaching, esp. during squirrel season, saved me from some pellets at least twice.
Also walking in or out I turn my headlamp on weather I need it or not. Never seen a deer with headlights.[patcheye]

when i hunted in chester pa i think the rule was you had to at lest hang organge in your vicinity i used to hang my orange hat on a limb... it should be the same way here. its dangerous and anyone not at least hanging something on the ground or from their tree that time of yr is nuts

If it makes sense to do something, you don't need a law for it.
wow common.. sense.. try it, its great.

i would and i use a light in the dark on private land. im not dying for a deer
