anyone else on the site have diabetes just got my results from the doctor and my count was over 500 and how does the cold affect you more..
Moderation and planning. I hate wheat pasta, I will eat regular pasta but for lunch only so I have the afternoon to burn it off. Planning meals like that can give you what you want but always in moderation. I do 1000mg of metformin 2x a day, actos for lunch and januvia w/ metformin at night. All that and I still have to work out 3=4x a week. It's a battle and 3 years into it, I've got a handle on it and am educated about it to know what will happen when I eat this or drink that, it's learning curve that you need to flatten and you will be able to control it. My Dr prescribed a diabetes class and recommended to see a nutritionist, i did both but after a year and if I'd done it earlier, I would have controlled it a lot sooner.i had to give up everything i love and dont know what the hell i am doing.i am a fast food and beer junky and it's killing me on both accounts
So am I, never been fat and have always played sports and always played in a softball, basketball flag football league into my late 30's. Type 2 is not hereditery but I was certainly predisposed as both T1 and T2 are rampant in my family.I am healthy and in good shape.
I know that all to well. I don't give myself much of a break and in karate class, sometimes we work judo throws and falls for a class and I am barely moving the next day. I have abused my body with sports my whole life. Torn ACL & MCL, broke both ankles and 6 other bones. I have bone spurs in my ankle that kill me after every hunt becase of the long hikes on unever terrain. I was gonna get them operated on after last hunting season and I find myself saying the same thing this season. It's brutal at times but I still love everything that I do. At 45, I fell more unstoppable now more so than ever, i'm still strong, I can out quick and out smart a lot of younger bucks in karate class during sparring. A pickup game of Bball is no problem until the next day when I'm sore but when I'm playing, I can still school the younger players. Nothing is that different for me with diabetes except the fact that I am mre aware of everything I am doing to the inside of my body.i am always in pain and hate the cold
