CLINTON TWP. — A dog belonging to a 13-year-old boy died after it was mauled by a buck, police said today.

Police were dispatched to a wooded area off Grayrock Road around 2:15 p.m. Wednesday on the report of someone screaming for help. When Patrolman Harry Bugal arrived, he met with the boy, who lives nearby. The boy, who was upset and crying, told Bugal he was walking his dog, Mango, when a “large buck” approached the two, attacked the dog and threw it in the river. The boy had pulled Mango from the river; when Bugal arrived, he found it lying on its right side and it was “severely injured,” according to police.

The boy told police he often walked the dog along the river without a leash.

I bet he buys a leash next time.
You never know, if the dog was on a leash the kid could have been killed too. Very sad story. I think the rut is on...

Dogs a pussy!!!! He probably got soft after being named after a "Fruit"!

Ya think Dinozo?

Feel bad for the kid, my wife is now dead scared to walk gunny out in the fields and woods. I told her give it a couple weeks and it will be fine. Or carry a side arm!

think a similar incident happened last year in Tewksbury and they initially blamed it on hunters
it did. a doberman was killed and the owner called fish and game for an autopsy ( tax dollars at work). turned out to be a buck gore and not shots
