I reread all the posts as this has got me quite rallied.

They are black, member of the KKK. Everybody was total against these people, till he died. And he was quite talentedas he tried to disarm officer, while trying to run him over.

IF you guys are that afraid of the mountian, come with me to WV some day, the home of deliverance, american unions and wacked out hillbillies as one put it. OH, to be so civil and vain.

Police work, doesn't even come into the top 20.
That may be, but how many calls so police go on that have the potential be become fatal?

How many times has a crane hauling tons of weight flew over my head? How many times does the wind pull on the tons that I'm trying to put in place while dangling 40'-200' in the air? How many times has the oil refinery had fires or explosions while I was there? How many times has there been gas leaks and killed tradesmen/friends? How many times, has temporary structure collapsed under tons of weight under my feet?

The answer, several times an hour, everyday of my life.

Not to mention cold, heat, weather, acts of god.

I know I picked the job, well so did they.

Ryan

The answer to that question is in my answer. Each one of us run a gauntlet every day. How many times could you be shot while hunting? Every time, including shooting yourself! How dangerous is fishing? You could drowned! If fear consumes you when you are on the job, regardless of what you do, then maybe you shouldn't do it.

As for the what ifs. Mike, look back to the what if Post in this thread. Like I said, if my aunt had balls, she would be my uncle. The stats I put up hear show jobs and there dangers. This is facts, not hypothetical situations.

How many people are killed going to work, how many people are killed doing what ever. The stats show what is dangerous and what is not. On every construction job, their is one safety manager for every 20 men. Still construction workers are the leaders in occupational deaths.

I say this in addition, BHC, may guard the criminals, when they are searched and kept under a close and watchful eye. In my trade, these same murderers, drug users, alcoholics, thefts are the ones working right next to me, and are not patted down or searched. I have seen laborer drop a full tool box on a boss, just for the fact he was going to get their check.(Fire them)

I think any tradesmen on this site would agree, a law enforcement officer wouldn't be able to stand next us, let alone perform our duty at hand.

So the answer to your question is how many more times is their life in danger compared to ours. The facts show....ours.

cause they are out of jail and don't want to come back

your job maybe more physical for the most part, but your lives aren't in danger, and to say that officers don't have dangerous jobs, is an insult to all the officers that have died protecting all of us, including those officers and fireman that died on September 11th

Well this tread took a turn away from the original topic.

BHC, do you know how many carpenters died in 9/11 (37) carpenters alone. Not counting electricians, pipefitter(plumbers) and many more americans.

Did you donate your time or money to 9/11. I did, through my union hall(donated money to their families)and also, volunteer 2 week of my time (unpaid) to help secure structures so you guys could go in an feel safe.

cause they are out of jail and don't want to come back
They do go back, and I'm sure they didn't want to go there in the first place. They make their own choices and have to lay in the bed they make.

I guess the tens of thousands that have died, so you could have electric, a place for your feces to go, gas so you and I could drive or facilities to house your job.

Talk about Monday morning quarterbacking, lets see you never served your country, but wished you would have(Wish in one hand and crap in the other, see which one gets filled) you talk as if you were at ground zero at anytime, which I have my doubts.

I was there, and have the t-shirt, literally.

To say my job isn't dangerous, is an insult to everyone who turns on their lights, crosses a bridge or goes to work in a highrise. I do feel sorry for all those who lose their life in the line of duty, work or daily lives, but for you to try and make yourself out to be some type of hero is just as much an insult to those you serve with.

Well this tread took a turn away from the original topic.
The orginal topic was full of opinions and here say. Pla930 had one of the most legit posts on here and I think it had the most merit. As for BHC, I and many others on here can see he like to toot his own horn. Joe, I'm sorry to have to say this, but other then your one post(your rights as a corrections officer) all you are doing is showing how ignorant you are to all people.

Yeah, I was there 20 mins after the 2nd tower came down, and was there for 2 days straight, and was there every Tuesday till Mid Ocotber
seems like you have a problem the way this country is going from your posts, you have a few avenues you can take: you can stop your whinning like a bitch you are, you can join a group to over throw the goverment, or you can move to another country

I was there, and have the t-shirt, literally.
wow, you need that to remind yourself of such a horriable day. The way you talk on here your insult to the human race, and I'm ashamed your served this great nation

How about moving this argument to another thread or a private message war?

Most guys do not want to read this. Your banter is not setting good conduct for younger eyes.

You both have strong feelings and I am not trying to disprespect anybody but enough...

horriable day
I do it's my birthday. I'm a virgo and was born, 9-11-70.
your insult to the human race
Joe, I knew that you would turn to insult most cowards do.
I'm ashamed your served this great nation
I served and served it well, so did all the males in my family.

As far as moving, not a chance, if it wasn't for people think like me, you'd still be owned by Britian.

like a bitch you are
Joe, not to hide behind a screen, I have seen your photos and I'm sure you have seen mine. Look up when you talk to me, look me dead in the eye and I gurantee you would have second thoughts. 6'0" 195 pounds, 32" waist. Even with hernia mesh stitches in I still lift and stay in shape. Four times state top ten wrestler 1984 through 1988, 100 of bar fights in younger days, I feel with my hands, not with my heart.

I have read almost all your posts, I felt I had to expose you for the person you are.

By the way were you paid for the time you spent at ground zero. I didn't, I paid my own.

By the way, a lot of vets feel as I do, we meet four times a year. So you are ashamed of them also.

Ryan
