Did anyone pick up the new Field and Stream Magazine that has an article about NJ Deer Hunting? I thought it kind of painted us in a bad picture and made NJ hunting look like a joke...anyone else see this?
When pop culture get's glimpses of NJ through the Sopranos, The Real housewives, The Jersey Shore...one can only associate NJ with those things. It's a shame that the people don't see why this is called the Garden State, the deer do."Mob Wars: Deer hunting NJ Style".
Exactly! It seems that the author had his opinion formed before he wrote the article and took pictures and wrote to try and portray a certain image about NJ hunting. I wish he would have actually traveled around the state and learned.Their lead-in picture for the article isn't the most complimentary either
Wait 'til they run Part II in next month's edition ... Deer Hunting "Pine Barrens" Style [hihi]It just seems they did not accurately portray NJ deer hunting....I mean on the cover of the magazine it says "Mob Wars: Deer hunting NJ Style".
The author Joe Cermele managed to find the uglier images he was looking for and write about them. He would know because he is a resident of New Jersey. If his story was meant to be a tongue-in-cheek poke at New Jersey, it still showed some of the uglier sides which will negatively resonate with readers across the nation. It seems that the author had his opinion formed before he wrote the article and took pictures and wrote to try and portray a certain image about NJ hunting.
[rofl][rofl]Wait 'til they run Part II in next month's edition ... Deer Hunting "Pine Barrens" Style
Very true.Honestly I am glad nobody wants to come to NJ for hunting.
Once you get to be a great spot in the magazine it gets burned out.
