I found out from my mom around noon today that my dad shot a buck with his crossbow around 8:30 this morning but was not able to find any blood and even with the help from some family members at our family campground, he was not able to recover his deer. My dad is 82 years old, has gloucoma in both eyes, never fully recovered from bells palsy 11 years ago and seriously does the senior citizen shuffle when he walks, but has been in his blind every day since PA Archery season opened. So, what could I do, but leave work a little early and make the 90 mile drive. He kind of yelled at me when I just showed up and announced that I was there to help him find his deer, but was happier than a kid on Christmas when 15 minutes into our search, we located his buck. He just purchased his crossbow this year but has never stopped gun hunting. This is my dad's first deer in about 10 years, so YEAH DAD !!! I wish I had been there to capture his whole hunt on video for him, but did bring my video camera to film the recovery.
