Forgot to post this yesterday. At 6:30 am a doe walks by my stand, I took the shot at about 30 yards out and I thought I heard the arrow hit. The doe bolts about 10-20 feet from where I shot her and stops, staggers. She takes a few more steps and falls down almost to her side and struggles to get up. Finally she gets up and slowly walks away. I wait about half an hour and went to the spot where I shot, found the arrow stuck half way under the dirt and grass, no blood, no smell -NOTHING! Fletching was clean. I spent the next hour tracking her, tracks were easy to follow but No BLOOD anywhere! What the heck happened? My friend said when she jumped the string she probably suffered "whiplash" and got dizzy. But answer really is I MISSED!!!

Interesting. Maybe you whacked her shoulder blade, but then the arrow would not be stuck halfway under the grass. Maybe you clipped the back of her front leg and that kinda made her feel like when you whack your funny-bone...?

Either she was faking, I've seen it a hundred times, very similar to playing dead, she just want to put some distance between you and her, they're that smart you know!

or

She was laughing(they do that you know) and she fell down laughing so hard from what she thought should have been an easy shot!

either way she made you look totally foolish! (They do that you know)[rofl]

Unfortunately when I examined the arrow it was bone dry. A few years back I gut shot a deer and there was no blood on the arrow except for some hair and a yellowish bad smelling fluid (stomach stuff). Not this time though - it was a clean miss. I do believe the force field theory though, or at least a magnet under their fur that repels the broadheads. Hey Thunderbolt - I thought I heard something laughing in the bushes after my shot [rofl][rofl][rofl]!!!
