Does anyone know how to remove the insert from carbon arrows? Is this possible to do without ruining the arrow? I missed my target, shot my tree and broke the field tip in the tree leaving the insert stuck inside of the shaft. [wallmad]
There is just enough of the threads from the tip sitll in the insert but when i tried pulling on them with visegrips it was still stuck as hell. Was thin king of maybe putting the end of the shaft in boiling water and trying to pull it out again. Is there any commercial product available to help with this? Any kinda help would be great. Thanks.

Heat a field point or 2" machine screw and screw it in the insert and pull, if hot glue was used it will come out. Just heat it up a little more each try, you don't want it too hot. If glue/epoxy was used you can try putting a drill bit inside the shaft from the nock end, then holding the arrow nock side down whip the arrow point down, sending the bit into the insert. It may take some practice and if it does fly out, it will come out very fast with the drill bit right behind it, so make sure you point it in a safe direction. This second method never worked for me so I use hot glue on all my arrows with no problems whatsoever.
