I got back in from South Africa about 2 hours ago; I'm cooked (36 hrs. total travel time)--I'll have more later, but in spite of the weather (cold, windy, and the grass was too green for this time of year) we did very well.
A funny thing--my shoulder was bothering me in spite of shots for bursitis. I stumbled on a great deal--a 2009 Diamond Rock, in the box, on Ebay. (Very easy to draw, 1 cam, 1 wheel.) I got that bow for $200. The sight was about $35. I had the rest and stabilizer sitting home. I used it for all the animals I took. What set up did you use to take those great beasts??
HELL YES! They're great. [up] I was trying to find a way to sneak some back to the states, but the fine is way too big if you get caught.Jersey Bob did you try any Bil Tong or Droe Wors?
Another tribute to frugality. That is Terek's father's old army .303 Ennfield. The South African army was upgrading back when his dad was finishing his service. He got a surplus army rifle, and had a good stock made up by a gunsmith. She's a tack driver!@By the way, that's a beautiful gun, what's the make/caliber?
I killed all mine with the same gear I use here for deer--that is what my outfitter told me to do and it worked.I had talked to African outfiiters at some shows, most encouraged cutting edge broadheads at 80lbs.
