I'm sorry to hear this Fred. I am sure it was a difficult decision, but you are doing right by her, and she would expect no less from you. You gave her a good life and now you are letting her go in the most peaceful and compassionate way you can. I know that all of our words here don't really make it any easier for you, but you are doing the right thing.

i fed xena a happy meal tonight.i never feed my dogs people food. but she actually ate it and loved it. her throat just cant take solid dog food she hacks it up. she lays around alot more and i took her out with the tennis ball, her favorite but she got it once and ran to the back door to go back inside.one more day and she will be put to a peaceful sleep. this sucks i thought i would be over this after my brittany passed of cancer at age 11. but it feels the same

So sorry to hear about your best friend, that sucks for sure.I have had to put down 3 labs all from old age.Have you ever considered give more people food to your dogs?Depending on the type of dog, there has been a lot of data connecting some dog foods to cancer in pets, mostly because that's all they get.My two present labs get mostly people food with a little quality dog food mixed in and that's what I have been feeding my dogs for years and one of my labs made it to a very healthy 16 years of age.Again so sorry for your loss,it never gets easier.

Sorry to hear this Fred. [sad] Not an easy decision to have to make.
