i received xena a little over 2 yrs ago. her owner went through a divorce and couldnt take her to her new residence. ringneck from this site hooked me up with the woman and i took her. sadly she hasnt been eating so i took her to the vet and she has lung cancer and it has spread into her throat . she will be missed dearly she was a great dog and a pleasure to share with my family for the past 2 yrs. the vet told me she has about a month left until she shuts down so i made the decision to put her down on thursday.

here is xena an hour ago

Sorry to hear that. Sucks.

The best hunting dog I ever owned .... and ever hunted with ... died of cancer at the age of 6.

And, yes .... you screwed up with the title of this thread. "One of my girls has cancer" sent a shock through my body.

After 12 years, I lost Max just last month. Had to make the same decision and it ripped me apart. Sorry for your loss, let's be happy for the time we had with them.:p
