I have an Alphamax 32 and love it. I like it over the 35 because of the size.

I've been a big Hoyt/Bowtech guy. I just hurt my shoulder and I have a trip coming up shortly...fortunately a single cam Diamond Rock is VERY smooth drawing...and very quiet, and very fast. I'm going with that and an older Hoyt Cam & 1/2 as a backup.

Remember, we're only getting older...I love my Tribute and my Guardian but they are HARD to draw right now, and that makes for lousy hunting.

I know of 8 different 350 destroyers that derailed in the last 2 months it isn't an isolated incident.  The flexguard deal isn't causing the derailment, the flexguard is just breaking.
WOW........Were they all bought @ the same shop? What did Bowtech say caused the derailments? What did Bowtech do to resolve the issue?

I've only read about 2 that have derailed and both were caused by the owner tuning his own bow. In fact one guy had previously derailed a Monster (I read AT also) I personally know of a buddy of mine who over tightened the limbs on his Switchback and blew the cams apart! Does that mean Matthews have "problems" with there bows? NO...Just means my buddy is a dumbass!

WOW......I barely personally know of 8 guys that bow hunt, but you know 8 who all bought destroyer 350's despite "all the problems they have had over the years." and every one derailed.....[wallmad]

Stratus: I can tell you from MY EXPERIENCE that MY Destroyer 340 shoots nice. I have owned it since March and have shot at least 3 dozen arrows, 5 days a week since then.....Guess what? No issues. I can also tell you from MY EXPERIENCE that every bow fits its shooter a certain way. Don't limit yourself! Again..shoot as many bows as you can, and choose the one that fits you best! Good Luck

P.S. I shoot RAGE Broadheads too! [rofl]

In the next week or two I will stop down at Targeteers a few times before I make my choice. I was a Golden Eagle guy before I bought my Hoyt. I had shot a variety of Mathews and Hoyt before I made up my mind on the Hoyt that has performed great.

I liked the Hoyt a lil better than the matthews but I personally like the draw stop on the Bowtech. I seemed to be able to "stretch" a 1/2" or so at the end of the draw on the Matthews and the riser on the Hoyt's didn't seem to fit me right. If I couldn't shoot my Bowtech.....The PSE X-force would be my next.

Take a ride out to Strictly archery in Washington. Great shop and a wealth of information. They'll get you set up good. PM me when you're going to Targeteers, I shoot there occasionally you can check out my rig. see what you think

Not from the same shop, not set up by the same people, not set up the same way. From what I've heard bowtech is looking at making a deep grove version of the destroyer cams to prevent derailment as it is becoming a common problem. There has been similar issues with PSE (on some of the x-force cams) and mathews on the xlr8 and both have resolved the issue with deeper groves in the cams. I don't know what it is with the speed bows that causes this problem but it happening a lot lately. What is even more interesting is that I haven't heard of a single 340 derailing but I know of 8 350's that have. Makes you wonder what is different about the cams that is making the 350 so easy to derail.

gotta be something with the limbs. I still feel it's user error. with all the new technology out there I don't think anyone but an authorized dealer should set up your bow.I know the basics of how a bow works but I wouldn't try to set mine up. If you read the owners manual for the Destroyer it details the importance of not over-tightening the flex guard and how the limb-pocket screws work.

Do you work for a dealer? PM me with some details about the problems you know of b/c I am interested if there is an issue but I've had none with mine.

z7....Z7....Z7 ...matthews last forever....
