Tom actually with out looking into it, I can name 3 black bear attacks here in north Jersey just in the last 2 years, the guy in Walpack that luckily enough killed the attacking bear with his bow, the guy who was attacked for his Quickcheck sandwich in his driveway, and just recently the guy who was hiking when he was attacked and his dog killed in Ringwood state park.Even with the bears coming closer than the yotes, house entries etc, there has yet to be an attack or anything close to it.
Already happened. It is just a matter of time before they do it in NJ.
That's the first thing I though too when I heard the story on the radio yesterday...I doubt these animals were rabid due to the fact they were in a pair, rabid animals go off on there own.
